Kanye West and JAY-Z Have Allegedly Put Their Financial Beef to Rest
The duo have reportedly crossed paths on numerous occasions in the past year.
After reconnecting this past weekend at Diddy’s 50th birthday party, Kanye West and JAY-Z have reportedly put their financial issues behind them.
A new TMZ report shares that the rappers taking photos together and dapping up recently wasn’t an isolated incident. You may remember in the past when the duo were in a legal battle equipped with lawyers due to Kanye’s split from Tidal, JAY-Z’s company. The Chicago artist alleged he was owed $3.5 million.
Prior to this it was public knowledge that Kanye was upset that JAY-Z and Beyoncé didn’t attend his wedding to Kim Kardashian in 2016. During a concert that same year, he sounded off about JAY not returning a call from him in a 20-minute rant. The Roc Nation co-founder responded seven months later on his 4:44 album on the song “Kill JAY-Z.”
Sources close to both multi-hyphenates have stated they quietly settled the Tidal lawsuit earlier this year. Both Kanye and JAY-Z were reportedly satisfied with the outcome and have moved on. In fact, when Kanye presented his first opera Nebuchadnezzar in November it streamed exclusively on Tidal. The two have allegedly agreed upon further collaborations.
Aside from Diddy’s party, the artists have run into one each other numerous times in the last year and have been cordial each time. The lavish 50th birthday celebration was the most public sighting. Despite this, fans can’t expect a Watch The Throne 2 album due to Kanye’s claim that he’s only doing the “Lord’s music” going forward. Instead he has confirmed he’ll be producing shows with megachurch pastor Joel Osteen.
JAY-Z ended the year on a high note with the release of his discography on Spotify recently to commemorate his 50th birthday.
