Kanye West Reimagines "Say You Will" & The Weeknd's "Tell Your Friends" In Epically-Kanye Fashion
It's been a minute since Kanye West dished out something in the form of new music. Sure, "All Day" is still getting plenty of burn, but we've heard more from 'Ye in terms of his fashion exploits and political career than anything musical.
Well, today the Louis Vutton Don has returned with a few (sorta) new takes on a pair of his more familiar cuts, reimagining his more recent triumph on The Weeknd's "Tell Your Friends" without The Weeknd at all, replacing Abel's croon with his own auto-tuned-to-death vox for roughly two minutes. The other cut is a lushly embellished take on the tender 808s & Heartbreaks opener "Say You Will," building out the cut with a massive chorale and arrangements from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw.
And so, with his Yeezus follow-up SWISH hardly on the collective hip-hop radar, you can at least treat yourself to some new-ish sounds from Mr. West, as he continues to churn out homeless-chic fashion lines and $250 sneakers whose soles peel after roughly ten wears.
