Kaytranada and Aminé Collab, Kaytraminé, an Early Dance Album of the Summer
Just in time for summer, Kaytranda and Aminé have released new album Kaytraminé, with guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Pharrell Williams, Big Sean and more.
Kaytranada and Aminé are making a splash to kick off the summer. The “4Eva” duo has newly released their debut collaborative album Kaytraminé, which features Snoop Dogg (“Eye”), Pharrell Williams (“4Eva”), Big Sean (“Master P”), Freddie Gibbs (“letstalkaboutit”) and Amaarae (“Sossaup”). The 11-track album marks Kaytranda’s latest project, following the 2021 project Intimidated and the 2019 Grammy-winning album Bubba, while Aminé dropped his fourth album TwoPointFive in 2021.
To coincide with Kaytraminé, the pair released new single “Rebuke” at midnight, heightening the anticipation of hip-hop and dance music fans alike.
Kaytraminé last performed at Coachella in April, but the two have collaborated on a number of songs for nearly a decade, including “La Danse,” “YeYe” and Aminé’s remix of Kaytranada’s “At All.” Aminé’s guest appearance on Rejjie Snow’s 2018 song “Egyptian Luvr” featuring Dana Williams was also produced by Kaytranada.
A sentimental Aminé tweeted about their friendship earlier this week, recalling when Kaytranada once sent him free beats early in his career.
“who tf know where i’d be right now without that little push from kay that early in my career,” Aminé said in a follow-up tweet. “the love you show people sometimes can really affect them in ways you couldn’t imagine. kaytraminé ain’t no industry play, this been 9 years in the making.”
The 29-year-old also shared a screenshot of a Twitter interaction he had with Kaytranada in 2014, just two years before Kaytranda would release his debut LP 99.9% One year later, Aminé would release his first album Good For You.
