Kehlani Shares Intoxicating Slow-Burner "Tore Up"
Since the release of her You Should Be HereLP, Kehlani has been one of the hottest commodities in the game. She's shared sonic space with Chance The Rapper on "The Way," serenaded supremely with BJ The Chicago Kid on "Down For You" and toured the world extensively throughout the year. She's even had her tracks reworked by the likes of Sango and damn-near the whole Soulection crew on the YSBH-Tsunamixes release.
There's been little in the form of new material since then, but over this past weekend we heard the intoxicating new single "Tore Up" from the Cali r&b queen, lamenting the loss of a lover and the countless ways one subdues themselves to numb the emotional turmoil, all of which is done over a deep and ivory chords and a minimalistic production provided by frequent collaborator, Jahaan Sweet. Kehlani's You Should Be Here LP is now nominated for a Grammy in the "Urban Contemporary" category and should be heard if you've yet to do so. Peep the latest down below along with her forthcoming tour itinerary and keep your ear to ground for the next swell.
