Kendrick Lamar Continues His Album Rollout, Teases “The Heart Part 5”
After making a comeback announcement this week, on Tuesday night, Kendrick Lamar updated his website, also appearing at an LA Dodgers game.
It's game time for Kendrick Lamar. Yesterday, the rapper was spotted at a Los Angeles Dodgers game alongside newest addition to the pgLang roster, Tanna Leone.
The surprise appearance came just before the Lamar's oklama website was updated with 399 folders in total, #327 being blacked-out and titled 'important'.' In the URL was added "theheart," and many fans speculated that the rapper is planning to continue with a fifth installment of his "The Heart" series. Currently, when each folder contains a 404 error with the message “this page could not be found" when clicked. In 2017, Lamar prepped fans with a fourth installment of "The Heart" just weeks ahead of the release of DAMN.
Although a song hasn't yet been added to the website, the update comes just one day after Lamar announced his upcoming album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. In the style of Michael Jordan's 1995 comeback press release, Lamar announced that his fifth studio album will release on May 13th.
Last August, Lamar opened his website with a blog post titled "nu thoughts," where he revealed that his fifth album will be his final release on Top Dawg Entertainment.
“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators," he wrote. "As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”
Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers releases May 13th.
