Video: Kendrick Lamar Freestyle on Power 106 + Free Concert in L.A.
It's a good week to be the good kid. With today's release of the highly anticipated album good kid, m.A.A.d city, Kendrick Lamar is, as expected, more or less everywhere. First, he hit us with this fresh freestyle courtesy of Big Boy's Neighborhood on Power106. He goes in on the first verse but wasn't done there. The good kid, even after an album like good kid, m.A.A.d city, still has bars to spare and goes in hard for another two solid verses.
But the Kendrick surprises don't end there. Leading up to the release of the album, Kendrick set up shop in front of the Staples Center in downtown L.A., and from on top of a double-decker bus, reminded L.A. that he's far beyond the title of rookie of the West Coast. Before the cops came and shut the whole thing down, Kendrick was able to spit out "Swimming Pools (Drank)" and "The Recipe" from good kid, m.A.A.d city plus "ADHD" and "HiiiPower" from his Section.80 tape. Fortunately, the camera phone was invented a few years ago and some dude had a steady enough hand to capture this moment in k.dot history. Check two of the clips after the jump and be sure to grab your copy of good kid, m.A.A.d city, in stores now.
