Kendrick Lamar is Reportedly Releasing a ‘GNX’ Deluxe Version
According to one of the collaborators on the surprise Kendrick Lamar album, he’s not quite done with GNX’s rollout.
Looks like Kendrick Lamar still has more plans for his GNX album, according to a collaborator on the project.
While speaking on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Lefty Gunplay, whose brief but impactful feature on “TV Off” — he’s the voice behind “S**t gets crazy, scary, spooky, hilarious” — rounds out the track, said that a deluxe version of the album is happening. While sharing that he contributed more to “TV Off” than what made the final cut, he said, “Yeah, I rapped on that beat. Got some stuff… I know he’s got a deluxe version coming out.”
The rising rapper also teased that a music video for “TV Off” is in the works.
“Have you guys talked about shooting a video for ‘TV Off’?” Bootleg Kev asked, adding, “There has to be a music video for this song, it’s so big.”
In response, Lefty put his finger to his mouth before cryptically saying, “Of course there probably would be, you know?”
Considering how common deluxe albums are nowadays, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Kendrick do the same for GNX.
The project has been well-received, with fans appreciating the lyrical abilities that they’ve come to expect from Kendrick, as well as the West Coast flavor the album puts on for.
Heading into 2025, Kendrick is already looking to have a promising new year. He’s nominated for multiple awards at the 2025 Grammys, primarily for his hit song, “Not Like Us.” The track is nominated for Song of the Year and if it were to win, it’d be the first diss song to win the award.
He’s also got his Super Bowl halftime performance to get ready for. He’ll serve as the game’s entertainment when it takes place in New Orleans.
