Kendrick Lamar Talks About the Security Guard Crying to His "LOVE" Performance
A recent viral clip shows a security guard getting emotional at The Big Steppers Tour while Kendrick Lamar performed his 2017 track "LOVE."
Kendrick Lamar got one special fan in their feelings during The Big Steppers Tour. During one show of his 65-date tour, a security guard was emotionally moved by Lamar's performance of Zacari-featured track "LOVE" from his 2017 album DAMN.
While the rapper was inattentive to the security guard during his set, he confirmed in an interview with child journalist Jazlyn Guerra a.k.a. Jazzy’s World TVthat he's seen the viral clip, explaining the importance of "feeling" in his music.
“It’s really just about the feeling of it at the end of the day,” he said. “Past all the politics, past all the numbers. It’s what music makes you feel, how it makes you feel. So to see that … And shoutout to him by the way because I seen him, bro. I was like, man, I wonder what he going through? But at the end of the day that’s how you want everybody to perceive your music.”
The Big Steppers Tour includes fellow pgLang artists Tanna Leone and Baby Keem, the latter who joined Lamar during his headlining set at Rolling Loud Miami on Sunday (July 24). The tour, which began its North American leg in Oklahoma City on July 19, continues on Wednesday (July 27) in Tampa. The tour will continue well into winter, concluding on December 16 in Auckland, New Zealand.
The full interview between Lamar and Jazzy's World TV will release on Wednesday.
