Kendrick Lamar is the First Rapper With Three Albums in Billboard's Top 10 at Once
A week and some change after Super Bowl LIX, Kendrick is still reaping the benefits of his performance.
You didn’t have to be a genius to know that Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX performance was going to lead to some sort of sales increase. But it’s actually even crazier than anyone could have imagined.
As Billboard noted today, Kendrick has just become the first rapper to ever occupy three slots in the Billboard 200 album chart top 10 at once. His latest album, 2024’s GNX, sits at No. 1, while DAMN. (2017) and good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012) rest at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. Both jumped at least 17 slots on the chart.Kendrick’s Billboard 200 dominance has come conjoined with another Billboard feat, too. Earlier today, Billboard also reported that “Not Like Us” has returned to No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart. His SZA-assisted single “Luther” and his Lefty Gunplay -featuring “TV Off” are holding down the No. 2 and No. 3 slots, respectively.
This news only continues what’s been a perpetual victory lap for the Compton rapper. A week before headlining the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, he five Grammys, including trophies for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. “Not Like Us” won him both of the awards. So, yeah. Kendrick is up big.
