Killer Mike Faces Criticism For Meeting With Georgia Governor
Killer Mike has since addressed some of the criticism he has received on social media.
Some people have called out Killer Mike for meeting with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. News of the meeting surfaced after Kemp shared an image with the rapper on Twitter Wednesday night.
"Today, Marty and I had a great meeting with @KillerMike," Kemp captioned the picture with. "We discussed how small businesses and the music industry are weathering the pandemic, the value of our skilled trade workers, and our fight to end human trafficking in Georgia. We look forward to seeing him again soon!"
Killer Mike shared a post of his own also speaking to the meeting, and said that his exchange with Kemp was productive.
"I look forward to helping Georgia increase its 2% Govt state contact participation to 10-15% (and greater) participation," he wrote in the caption accompanying the post. "...This is the 1st of many real and frank conversations to be had."
Upon news surfacing of the two's meeting, people on social media have criticized the rapper for meeting with the politician, who many believe implemented voter suppression to win the 2018 gubernatorial election against Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams. Critics brought this up, as well as Kemp's handling of the conronavirus pandemic in Georgia.
Somehave also defended Killer Mike's decision to meet with Kemp.
The rapper has also addressed some of the criticism he has received.
