Authorities had initially debunked reports of gunfire, but are now confirming that two people have been shot. According to a report in TMZ, a new search warrant states one person was shot in the elbow, and another was shot in the lower back/buttocks.
The multiple shots triggered a stampede which reportedly resulted in 19 people being injured.
Authorities believe the shooter was aiming to kill someone. The affidavit indicates that there is a "surveillance system [that] captured the events leading up to, and after the attempted murder of unknown Victim."
LAPD asked a judge to order for the seizure of the video equipment located inside the strip mall stores, including Marathon Clothing Store, but the legal documents say employees at all the businesses refused to turn over equipment.
