Larry Wilmore is 'Black On The Air' with a New Podcast
In the wake of The Nightly Show's untimely demise, Larry Wilmore's remained mostly behind-the-scenes; securing Insecurean HBO slot, landing a deal with ABC that would see him developing yet another smash series.
With Issa Rae's critical darling headed into its second season, Wilmore appears to be back in the hot seat and ready to burn. According to Deadline, the former Daily Show writer and correspondent is joining Bill Simmons' The Ringernetwork with his own new podcast series, Black On The Air. Wilmore will discuss the events of days prior and welcome guests like Neil deGrasse-Tyson and Bernie Sanders. The show premieres tomorrow with legendary TV writer, Norman Lear(the man behind The Jeffersons, Good Times, All in The Family and more) whose own podcast caused quite the stir when Jerrod Carmichael insisted they chant the n-word on air. Maybe that's where Wilmore picks up?
In any case, you can hear a teaser for Larry Wilmore's new podcast Black on The Air below. You can subscribe to it via Apple Podcasts, RSS, Soundcloud or Stitcher. Meanwhile, Issa Rae's Insecure returns July 22nd to HBO. This should be more than enough to hold you over.
