Video: Lee Fields & The Expressions - "Faithful Man" [dir. Tiombe Lockhart]
Yesterday soul survivor Lee Fields debuted the new video for his signature jam "Faithful Man," the title track from his excellent album on Truth And Soul. I don't know if anything will replace the clip of this live Austin session for capturing the song's raw, unfiltered emotional power. But this enchanting video--directed by renaissance-gal and Okayplayer's Tuesday crushTiombe Lockhart--makes a compelling case with a montage of brilliant nightclub performance and eyeshadow-streaking vignettes of wicked, adulterous love that can only be described as Motown magic realism. Today, I'm told, also happens to be a birthday celebration for Tiombe (who can be glimpsed getting her shoop-shoop on in the video's club sequences) which I think qualifies her for some sort of triple-word score in the cosmic Scrabble game. We're all playing--just got to make those letters spell out something like l-o-v-e or maybe h-a-p-p-i-n-e-s-s. Just ask Lee when you see him in your town (latest tour dates after the jump).
