Little Simz Releases New Documentary 'On Stage Off Stage'
New Little Simz documentary On Stage Off Stage follows the UK rapper on the European leg of her Sometimes I Might Be Introvert tour.
British rapper Little Simz gets real in her new documentary On Stage Off Stage. In the 40-minute film, the artist, legal name Simbiatu "Simbi" Abisola Abiola Ajikawo, embarks on the European leg of her Sometimes I Might Be Introvert tour, which was held in 2021. Filmed and edited by Abu Dumbuya, On Stage Off Stage follows Ajikawo during shows and on days where she didn't perform.
The tour was also titled after Ajikawo's fourth studio album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, which features Cleo Soul and Obongjayar. The album, which included singles “Introvert" and "I Love You, I Hate You," won the 29-year-old artist the Best New Artist award at the 2022 BRIT Awards.
Last December, Aijkawo returned with surprise album NO THANK YOU, with executive production from Inflo and Sol on background vocals. To accompany the project, Aijakawo also dropped a 10-minute short film, which concluded with single "Heart on Fire."
In an interview with Rolling Stone UK last November, the artist remained coy on NO THANK YOU.
“I’m a public figure, in a way, but I’m a private person," she said. "I also think people value mystery. You don’t have to share everything, you know? Or you stagger it. I might share stuff that I’m going through now in 20 years."
