Lorde Performs "Teams", "Royals" + So Much More Live On Letterman
As if you haven't heard enough of teen phenom Lorde, she graced the stage of The Ed Sullivan Theatre last night to perform a 30-minute set for The Late Show, spanning the hits of her groundbreaking debut Pure Heroine. The wise-beyond-her-years teen sensation, was the youngest artist in over 20 years to hold the number one slot on Billboard and she took to the stage to show between 3 and 4 million viewers exactly why. What's truly stirring about her presence in the industry is not her age, rather how prophetic of a writer she is. She literally tells you how successful she's going to be and exactly what aspects of the industry she's going to lead the crusade against.
Outside of her various crusades against consumerism and misogyny, she absolutely shines as a performer, both as the bandleader and a quiet host for the evening's show. The Auckland wonder has had an incredibly eventful few months with her smash hit "Royals" being the number one song in the country for almost 6 weeks and running, not to mention the Wu treatment it received from Raekwon in a remix of the famed chart-topping debut. Needless to say, with all of the attention she's receiving for an album full of songs she wrote when she was 12(!) we can expect to see a lot more of her in the not too distant future. You can watch Lorde perform "Royals", "Teams" and a slew of other hits below live on Letterman below.
