Made In America 2017 Lineup: Jay Z, J. Cole, Solange, Little Dragon & More
Made In America has announced its lineup for this year.
The Jay Z-fronted festival will not only feature its founder sharing headlining slots with J. Cole and The Chainsmokers, but will also include performances from Solange, Migos, Run The Jewels, Little Dragon, Sampha, DMX and more.
The two-day festival will be happening on September 2-3 at Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Jay Z has currently been expanding his resume as a producer. The entrepreneur, alongside The Weinstein Company, released TIME: The Kalief Browder Story, a documentary series shown on Spike TV, back in January of this year.
"I believe this young man, his story, will save a lot of lives," Jay Z said in regards to the Kalief Browder series. "What was done to him was a huge injustice and I think people will see his story and realize, man, this is going on. This is not like one case that happened. This is happening a lot for people – especially where I come from in the boroughs and the Marcy Projects and the Bronx and Brooklyn and all these places."
The duo is also set to work on a film and documentary series on Trayvon Martin, too, having acquired the rights to two books based centered around Martin's life.
The two books are Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It, written by attorney Lisa Bloom, and Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, which was authored by Trayvon’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
