It appears Martin Shkreli will have to serve out the remainder of his prison sentence.

According to TMZ, a New York judge denied the former pharma executive's appeal for an early release due to coronavirus concerns. In their ruling, the judge noted Shkreli was in little danger of contracting the novel virus, as the Pennsylvania facility holding him had yet to confirm a single case. The other half of Shkreli's petition, claiming to have found a COVID-19 vaccine that "so far eluded the best medical and scientific minds in the world," was also shot down. In court documents obtained by TMZ, the judge says those claims reflect the type of "delusional self-aggrandizing behavior" that landed him behind bars in the first place.

In 2017, Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in federal prison after being found guilty on three of the eight securities fraud charges brought against him by prosecutors. As part of his sentence, Shkreli was forced to forfeit the one-of-one Wu-Tang Clan album, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, he infamously bought for $2 million. But there's still no word on when or even if it'll head back to the auction block.
