Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Fraud
We won't be hearing from Martin Shkreli for a while
Infamous Pharma bro Martin Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison for defrauding his investors on Friday afternoon.
According to the Daily News, Shkreli was crying before his sentence was given out. He told the judge:
“There is no conspiracy to take down Martin Shkreli. I took down Martin Shkreli...This is my fault. I am not a victim here.”

Shkreli was found guilty last August of three counts of fraud. Federal prosecutors had suggested a sentence of 15 years, while Shkreli's lawyers said that he should get no more than 18 months. Shkreli, who ran a hedge fund, was convicted of lying and tricking his investors.

This sentence comes just days after Shkreli was forced to forfeit about $7.36 million, including his $2 million Wu-Tang album.
From threatening Hillary Clinton to streaming Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V album, Shkreli has been in the news a lot over the years. But he first came to infamy in 2015 when he hiked up the price of an Aids pill 5,000%, to $750 per pill.
