Marvel's Latest Batch Of Variant Hip-Hop Covers Pays Tribute To Madvillain, GZA & Lil B
After hitting us with three new variant covers from their ongoing variant cover campaign, Marvel tips its hat to our beloved canon with another quick batch. This time around, we find Thor gracing the cover of Madvillain's classic Madvillainy LP, while a fitting Iron Man mock-up brings GZA's breakout solo smash Liquid Swords. The infamous Lil B even gets his own offshoot with a bit of assistance from fringe superhero/Greek god Hercules with a rework of his Black Flame mixtape. These, of course, only add to the immutable greatness of remixed covers from The Roots, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, De La Soul, Nas, and damn near every hip-hop luminary under the Earth's yellow sun, with the promise of roughly 30 more to come. If you need a quick refresher on what's already been a brilliant campaign, we implore you to jump back and have a look and pray with the rest of us that these get blown up to massive proportions so that we can just throw our money at the comic book giant. Check out the latest batch of Marvel's hip-hop covers in the gallery above and hold tight for the next one (or thirty) in the weeks ahead.
