The Internet's Matt Martians Wants You To "Bounse" To This Infectious Instrumental
Matt Martians, a man who has provided ample assistance in cementing the sonic legacy of Odd Future and its various offshoots, recently put out a record with The Internet as much of the musical muscle behind the group. And while Ego Death is getting spun 'til the grooves go dull, Martians just dropped an infectious instrumental for the world to rock with. "Bounse" has plenty of it, infused with a buoyant synth-driven groove, a hard-knock on the kit and Steve Lacy --who also lent his hand to Ego Death's closer "Overload" -- on a liquid-y low-end that invokes shades of A Tribe Called Quest's "8 Million Stories" with each and every pop of the string. Consider this a little Ego Death outtake for your extended listening sojourn, though we're sure it won't derail you for too long. Hear Matt Martians' lovely little loosie "Bounse" below and catch him rocking the keys for The Internet live and direct later this week as they invade LA's Inner-City Arts on July 25th. Cop Ego Death on iTunes today and stay tuned for all of the sounds and sights in the weeks ahead.
