Mayer Hawthorne - 'Where Does This Door Go?' [Full Album Stream]
In advance of Mayer Hawthorne's release of his new album Where Does This Door Go? next week (July 16th--pre-order it here, via iTunes) the Michigan-bred soulcat hit us with a full LP stream. So far we mostly know the new project from the two leaks (Father's Day jam "Reach Out Richard" and "Her Favorite Song"--though His favorite song is clearly the Large Professor remix. And by His I mean God's. Yes, God is a man and he is a Main Source fan.) And its cover art (above)--which suggests that Mayer lives in a creepy apartment with no furniture, dresses like the Archduke Ferdinand and has a pet owl. But enough with the mystery, already. Now is your chance to get familiar with the project, live in it for a few days, see how the shoe fits, take it for a test drive and other clumsy preview metaphors. Oh, hell just buy the damn thing! You already know that whenever Hawthorne is not hanging out with Booker T of Booker T & The MGs or rocking his Rolf The Dog suit to the local watering hole, he is steady turning out blue-eyed boogie for the ages. But if you don't believe me, hit the link below to listen for yourself:
