Megan Thee Stallion Lands First-Ever No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 W/ "Savage" Remix
The Houston rapper was joined by Beyoncé for the chart-topping remix last month.
Megan Thee Stallion has earned her first-ever No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The "Savage" remix featuring Beyoncé was greeted with fanfare when it arrived a few weeks ago and even its own TikTok dance.
The remix has organically made its way up the chart, recently it landed the No. 5 slot. This is Beyoncé's seventh No. 1, according to Billboard. Megan’s rise up this specific chart was last seen when she dropped “Hot Girl Summer” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign last year, it charted at No. 11.
The tracks which follow on the Hot 100 are Doja Cat’s “Say So,” The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” DaBaby’s “Rockstar” with Roddy Rich and Drake’s “Toosie Slide.” Last week, Megan Thee Stallion unveiled an animated video for “Savage.”
The road to the top slot wasn’t easy for the Houston rapper. Recently Tekashi 6ix9ine ranted on social media after his newest single “Gooba” didn’t land the spot he believed it should have received. The New York rapper landed at No. 3 on the Hot 100 chart, this same week Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s “Stuck With U” topped the chart.
When the “Savage Remix” landed at No. 1 Megan immediately took to Twitter to share, “Hotties and the Hive did dat.” She also thanked her fans on Instagram by writing, “Hotties we are number 1 on the Hot 100 for the first time ever. We fucking did it. This is our first but it damn sure won’t be our last!”
