Megan Thee Stallion Drops Fiery New Single "Plan B"
After performing a snippet at Coachella last Saturday, Megan Thee Stallion has released a full-length version of her new single "Plan B."
Megan Thee Stallion is taking in back to the basics. On Friday, the rapper released new single "Plan B," nearly a week after teasing it during her Coachella set last Saturday. Sampling 1995 Jodeci track "Freek'n You" which features Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, at Coachella, Meg said that the song was “very motherfucking personal,” and dedicated “to whom it may the fuck concern.”
A clip of the song's preview at Coachella went viral, with fans assuming she was speaking about Tory Lanez. (Although she never mentions his name.) Meg fans started to ask the rapper to release the track in full. Soon thereafter, Meg obliged to requests.
"Plan B" arrives just one month after Meg's previous single "Sweetest Pie" featuring Dua Lipa. After the song's release, Meg later hit the road with Lipa for select dates on her Future Nostalgia Tour, which wrapped at the beginning of April.
Later this year, the rapper is expected to release her sophomore album, which comes two years after her 2020 full-length debut Good News. Last year, Meg released compilation project "Something for the Hotties," but 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO Carl Crawford refuses to consider the project an album, wanting the rapper to fulfill her “minimum recording commitment" on the label.
In a recent Highsnobiety profile, the rapper spoke about recording Good News at home during the 2020 COVID pandemic.
“I feel like Good News is awesome,” she said. “Of course, everything crazy in the world was happening. I made it in the house, in the living room. I don’t have any regrets about it.”
