MF DOOM Dead At 49
Jasmine, MF DOOM's wife, shared the news of the rapper's passing on his Instagram account.
MF DOOM, one of hip-hop's most brilliant rappers, has passed away at the age of 49. The news was shared late Thursday afternoon on the rapper's Instagram account, courtesy of his wife, Jasmine. The post revealed that the Madvillainy artist had actually passed away earlier this year on October 31.
"The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for," the caption begins alongside an image of DOOM wearing a New York Knicks jersey. "Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be. My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet."
The cause of death is unknown. The rapper had appeared on two recent tracks: one with Flying Lotus titled "Lunch Break," and another with BadBadNotGood titled "The Chocolate Conquistadors." Amid news of his passing, a number of people have shared posts honoring DOOM, including Flying Lotus, Danny Brown, Vince Staples, Aminé, Just Blaze, Q-Tip, DJ Premier, El-P, and Questlove.
