Watch Michael B. Jordan Encounter a Former Classmate Who Used to Tease Him
At the Creed III premiere in Atlanta, actor and director Michael B. Jordan encountered former high school classmate Lore'l.
Creed III actor and director Michael B. Jordan hasn't forgotten about his humble beginnings. While attending the Atlanta premiere of Creed III over the weekend, the recent Rolling Stone cover star encountered Lore'l of the The Morning Hustle Show. While interviewing Jordan on the red carpet, Lore'l, a former star of VH1's Love & Hip-Hop, brought up the fact the two of them were classmates at a 7-12 grade academy in Newark, New Jersey.
In a 2021 episode of podcast The Undressing Room, Lore'l discussed Jordan's then-relationship with model and socialite Lori Harvey, sharing that the actor was often teased in his early career as a teenager.
“You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life. We went to Chad Science [Academy] together in Newark and to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan,” she said. “And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the ‘hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!”
It appears that Jordan was aware of the interview, making for an awkward exchange between him and Lore'l.
"I was the corny kid, right?" Jordan joked when the interview began.
The interview lasted for 2 minutes, with Creed III co-star Jonathan Majors appearing briefly. Lore'l asked about Jordan's plans for the I Am Legendsequel, and although the actor remained hush on the upcoming film, he answered her final question about favorite Atlanta restaurants before moving on to the next interviewer.
"Well, you're not corny anymore," Lore'l joked at the end.
