Offset and Quavo Reunite For Takeoff Tribute at 2023 BET Awards
Offset and Quavo haven't performed together since 2021.
The legacy of Migos and Takeoff remains strong. Seven months after the untimely death of Takeoff, the remaining Migos members, Offset and Quavo, reunited at the 2023 BET Awards to pay tribute.
In a surprise performance, the two emerged in front of a rocket graphic rapping the 2022 single “Hotel Lobby” before performing their iconic record “Bad and Boujee.” It was an emotional performance for the duo who have notably been at odds; the duo performed their memorable hit in full, interacting and dancing beside each other.
It’s the first documented time they’ve performed together since Rolling Loud and Hot 97’s Summer Jam in 2021. Following the release of their album Culture III in June of 2022, rumors began that the trio had split duo to contractual issues. The unofficial split, which still has yet to be confirmed, led to Offset continuing with a solo career while Quavo and Takeoff continued under the moniker Unc and Phew. Together, Quavo and Takeoff released Only Built for Infinity Links. The album was released just 25 days before the passing of Takeoff in Houston, Texas on November 1st, 2022.
Since then, the two have sporadically been seen together outside of Takeoff’s memorial service. With a rumored argument happening backstage at The Grammys this year between Offset and Quavo over the Takeoff tribute led by Quavo. More recently, the two were spotted two weeks ago at a birthday party for Takeoff in Atlanta.
