OKP Premiere: Miles Chancellor Debuts 'No Man's Island' LP [STREAM]

Acclaimed underground artist and West Philly native Miles Chancellor officially plants a flag with the arrival of his No Man's Island debut solo LP. The culmination of paid dues and a diverse set of influences, the project executive produced by sketcho and Justin Miller follows the official video for "Heaven" and his No Man's Island mini doc - a candid chronicle of the left-of-center rap life at the core of the project. Built around a backbone of nasty bass and brooding verses, No Man's Island channels the best of drill, trap and the sinister rudeboy aesthetic of dancehall classics. Chancellor's versatility is particularly evident on "End of the Summer" and the project's title track.

Equally comfortable moshing with bruisers and floating above the fray on a minimalist chord progression, Chancellor dominates with a healthy mix of bravado and biting realism. Introspective commentary, melodic delivery and a scrappy "out-the-mud" mentality speak to the time he spent cutting his teeth on the streets of his hometown where the perennially salty ethos is a perfect breeding ground for battle tested microphone fiends. Appealing to the streets while improving upon the prevailing aesthetic perfected by the stars of the south and the 6ix, No Man's Island offers solid proof that Miles Chancellor may have what it takes to become a giant among men.
