Other standouts this week include Sango’s In The Comfort Of and the fourth installment of 14KT’s Karat Gold Music series.  Jam No Peanut takes on fascism in America with Microphone Misdemeanor.  Brooklyn Shanti, Hezekiah, DB Bantino and UK representative Wu-Lu also make the list with formidable projects.

We close this week with a tribute to Sweden’s own Per Ronge aka DJ Devastate from Diamond Media. Devastate will be remembered as a lover of obscure gems and a dedicated purveyor of deep, soulful grooves and gritty production.

Diamond Media - In Loving Memory of DJ Devastate

Diamond Media follows the untimely passing of Counterweight Records co-founder and Sweden’s own DJ Devastate with a playlist tribute.

The Hip-Hop world lost a true soldier last Tuesday, March 6th with the untimely and tragic passing of Per Ronge, p/k/a DJ Devastate. The life of the gifted producer and deejay/turntablist ended far too soon at just 35 years of age, and only a day after he returned home to Sweden from a DJ gig and radio appearance in London. Known by his friends and family for his unyielding loyalty, Devastate was a uniquely beautify soul who used music as a vehicle to touch lives and bring people together. Rest in peace, Devastate, your spirit and your music will live on forever.
