Watch The Trailer For The New Nas Documentary 'Time Is Illmatic'
Time is Illmatic, a feature-length documentary that delves deep into the creation and legacy of Nas's debut LP Illmatic, is on its way to silver screens across the globe. And we've now got a proper trailer for the fast-approaching doc. Stop thinking and press play one time for your mind:
In the short clip we hear Nas say that he wanted Illmatic to make us "feel that hip-hop was changing and becoming something more real." We can't argue with that. From the looks of things Time Is Illmatic will take us down memory lane to Nas's beginnings in the infamous Queensbridge housing project to the recording booth to the world's greatest stages. The doc is all set for its world premiere on the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival later this month.
Our man Nas has been every-damn-where in the last few weeks dropping tracks, giving interviews and taking the Tonight Show stage by storm with help from Q-Tip and The Roots. It's all been in celebration for the 20th anniversary of the almighty Illmatic, and from what can see in the film trailer the best is yet to come.
