Nas Set To Drop 'The Lost Tapes 2' And Posthumous Pimp C Record On Mass Appeal
Nas announced today that his freshly mintedMass Appeal imprint will be releasing both the sequel to his 2001 compilation record The Lost Tapes and a posthumous release from the late great Pimp C. After scooping up freshmen year stars like Bishop Nehru, Fashawn and Boldy James, Nas' tenure as the label's tentative A&R has commenced with thoroughbred vigor. Though release dates have yet to be established for any of these immensely anticipated drops, Nas' devout commitment to the label and the development of his artists seems inarguable at the moment. In an email from Billboard, Nasty states :
"I’m excited to be a part of creating and supporting future careers and legacy artists, promoting love and finding new genius to help the world. I’m going to be as involved as I need to be, but I also want to be respectful of the art and give artists the space they need to grow and become themselves."
In what has already been a monumental year for the Queensbridge bomber, it seems we're not even close to cusp of what could potentially be his most productive year to date. There's still no word on whether Bishop Nehru's MF Doom collaboration will be making it to the new imprint, but you can be sure we'll have more on all of these releases as details roll-out. Keep it locked folks.
