Neil deGrasse Tyson Denies Sexual Assault Allegations, Welcomes an Investigation
The astrophysicist offers his side to the accounts that have circled the press over the last 48 hours and pledges his full cooperation to any investigation.
Neil deGrasse Tyson has broken his silence on the accusations of sexual assault and misconduct of former colleagues and a classmate.
Taking to his Facebook page, the popular astrophysicist offered a thoughtful and even-toned statement in which each of the three accusations are addressed, clarified, and atoned where needed. Tyson offers his account of each situation, denying that any assault or misconduct took place, and submitted his full cooperation to an independent investigation process, currently underway by Fox and National Geographic, the networks that house his two programs, Startalk and Cosmos. A new season of the latter was slated to debut in 2019, while the former has just commenced its fifth season with the late Anthony Bourdain.
