An Almost 30-Year-Old Nas Freestyle Has Finally Been Turned Into A Complete Song
Nas has finally released the completed version of his song "Life Is Like A Dice Game."
In 1993, Nas released a freestyle titled "Life Is Like A Dice Game" as part of his Illmatic sessions. Ending the song with the line "When I finish the shit it’s going to be a hit," one would've assumed that it wouldn't take almost 30 years for the completed song to see the light of day. But that is the case with "Life Is Like A Dice Game."
Nas finally released the completed version of the track as the latest RapCaviar x Spotify Singles recording. Produced by Hit-Boy, the song also includes features from Freddie Gibbs and Cordae.
"Spotify pulled out a leak from the ’90s that I did eons ago, and asked if I could resurrect it," Nas said in a press release. "I can’t remember where I recorded it, or who produced it — maybe Easy Moe Bee, he was killin’ the game at the time! Carl Chery from Spotify suggested we connect with Freddie and Cordae to bring the song new life and I loved it."
In related news, Nas is celebrating the anniversary of his second album, It Was Written, with an expanded digital edition of the album, as well as a limited edition anniversary bundle. Adding to the special anniversary release, the music videos for “If I Ruled The World (Imagine That)” and “Street Dreams” are being updated as HD videos, and will premiere on Friday, July 2.
