Up-And-Coming Brooklyn Rapper Nick Blixky Shot and Killed at 21
Blixky planned to release his first mixtape on June 3.
21-year-old Brooklyn rapper Nick Blixky (born Nickalus Thompson) was shot and killed in Prospect Lefferts Gardens on Sunday night. The New York Police Department says no arrests have been made but their investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Blixky's single "Drive the Boat" with 22Gz and Nas Blixky racked up over 2 million views on YouTube.
Frequent collaborator and fellow Blixky Gang member 22Gz shared his condolences on Instagram.
"One of the realest and most loyal homies I got," he wrote. "I'd never forget you, bro, & imma miss you can't stop thinking bout all the shit we been through and how far we came. I wish I was there to save you my nigga, sleep easy bro and watch over us I love you save me a spot up there ya legacy could never die bro."
"U ain't gone, this [is] unreal," Nas Blixky added on Instagram. "Every tear I drop I see you in the sky saying 'shut up Nas..."
Just hours before on Sunday, Nick Blixky announced the impending release of his first mixtape, Different Timin. Blixky planned to release the tape on June 3.
Police responded to a 911 call about a man shot on Winthrop Street in Brooklyn. According to an NYPD statement, Thompson was found unconscious and unresponsive with "gunshot wounds to his torso and buttocks." Emergency service workers transported him to Kings County-New York City Health and Hospitals.
