Rappers, Peers Honor Nipsey Hussle on the One-Year Anniversary of His Death
"A true king to his people with a heart of gold."
Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of the death of Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle. Over the past year, the rapper and organizer's impact has been felt in his absence.
Friends, family, and former collaborators alike paid tribute throughout the day. Curren$y, who collaborated with Hussle on his Smokee Robinson tape, simply tweeted "Love u homie."

Snoop Dogg, who spoke at Hussle's funeral last April, posted footage of himself, Hussle, and Wiz Khalifa on-stage at a Fetty Wap concert. T.I. posted a video of himself and Nipsey throwing money at Magic City, joined by Dave Chappelle.
"Just us kicking shit before the world went crazy," he wrote. Ain't been the same since. Never will be...we'll take memories like these & lessons we learned from your life into eternity wit us King."
Meek Mill shared a snapshot of the two performing on his The Motivation tour last year.

Roddy Ricch, whose collaboration "Racks in the Middle" with Hussle won Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance at this year's Grammy Awards, simply tweeted "All money in forever."
"You existed in so many worlds at the same time, and the way you transitioned between them can only be described as grace," said real estate developer David Gross. Gross and Hussle co-founded the Vector 90 STEM center and co-working space in Los Angeles.
DJ Khaled, who worked with Hussle on the Grammy-winning track "Higher," paid tribute via Instagram.
"Inspiration to all of us," he wrote. The marathon continues. Long live Nipsey Hussle. Grateful for your friendship #HIGHER, the highest human act is to inspire."
Fellow Los Angeles natives The Game also shared his thoughts.
"A true king to his people with a heart of gold," he wrote. "A pure soul who knew exactly what the world needed for motivation. My only wish is that you could've been here to see it all unfold yourself."
