NWA Will No Longer Perform At The 2016 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Ceremony
Anticipation was sky-high at the prospect of even a partial NWA reunion at this week's Rock & Rock Hall Of Fame induction in Brooklyn, but it appears the pioneering west coast crew has/had other plans for their big moment. Speaking with The New York Times, Ice Cube broke the news, claiming: "...we’re not performing. I guess we really didn’t feel like we were supported enough to do the best show we could put on."
Which certainly comes as a blow to those who were looking forward to seeing the lone hip-hop act in this year's induction class get busy with some hits, but it's not all bad news. Kendrick Lamar is still slated to deliver the induction as a faithful disciple and student of NWA, and hell, for all we know, this could be a mere diversionary tactic. Whatever it is, attendees will still be in for a treat, merely being in the presence of such innovators, and maybe even be in line for some surprises still. The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony begins at 7PM sharp tomorrow at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and will, of course, be filmed for an HBO special that will air later this year.
