Oklahoma Police Chief To Resign After Being Linked To Neo-Nazi Websites
The police chief has since stated that he will be resigning from the position.
After learning that only one hate group operated in Texoma from the Southern Poverty Law Center, a reporter for Colbert Oklahoma's KXII did some research and discovered that the organization is a website called ISD Records, which sells racist media and memorabilia targeted at neo-Nazis and white nationalists.
As KXII reports:
With a banner that reads 'The Voice of Blood and Honour,' an international coalition of racist skinhead gangs, ISD Records features artists like The Klansmen and album titles including 'Hitler was Right.'
The reporter then found the certificate of ownership of ISD records and tracked it back to Bart Alsbrook, a Denison resident who had just been promoted to interim chief after serving as a Colbert reserve police officer. Although Alsbrook denied that he was the owner of the website when confronted by the reporter, the site was taken down shortly after they spoke with one another. In a follow-up call with Alsbrook, he then claimed a group of skinheads stole his wallet and began using his name after a fight at a heavy metal concert in the 1990's.
Ultimately, the report ends by saying that Alsbrook will continue to be the interim chief until the city hires a full-time chief but he has since said that he will resign.
Recently, two KKK members who once served as prison guards were convicted of murder for planning to kill a black inmate after his release. Both Charles Newcomb and David Elliot Moran were found guilty of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
