Outkast Is On Lollapalooza's 2020 Virtual Fest But It's Not What You Think

No, Outkast isn't reuniting.

Lollapalooza has announced a four-night livestream event in place of its annual music festival that was canceled because of covid-19. The virtual festival, which will take place on Lolla's website and its YouTube account, was announced on Lolla's Instagram page along with a roster of artists and special guests who will be a part of the event, including Outkast.

If you look closely, you'll notice toward the bottom of the lineup that the rap duo is listed. Now, we know what you're thinking: "Outkast is reuniting for this?" Unfortunately, no. According to Rolling Stone, past headlining sets from Outkast, as well as Chance The Rapper and Paul McCartney, will be featured in the livestream.

However, original live sets will also be streamed from H.E.R., Kali Uchis, Tank and the Bangas, Pink Sweat$, Yungblud and more. The event will also feature special appearances from LL Cool J, Chuck D, Common, Michelle Obama and others.

The last time either member of Outkast spoke about the possibility of making a new album was over three years ago, when Big Boi was asked if he will ever reunite with Andre 3000for another album.

"You’ve gotta talk to Jesus, man! You’ve gotta talk to Jesus," Big Boi said. "I’m always open. I’m always open. So when plans and stars align one day…you never know."

Lolla2020 will take place from July 30 to August 2.
