Nas & Stevie Wonder Join PJ Morton on "Be Like Water"
Before next week's release of new album Watch The Sun, PJ Morton has released new single "Be Like Water" featuring Stevie Wonder and Nas.
Prepping his first album in almost two years, PJ Morton has released new collaboration "Be Like Water" withStevie Wonder and Nas. The single marks Morton's second time collaborating with Wonder, as the two first teamed up on "Only One" from Morton's 2013 album New Orleans.
“‘Be Like Water’ was definitely a phrase I had heard before,” Morton said about the song in a statement. “Bruce Lee made it famous, of course, but it didn’t fully connect with me until we were all shut down and I had to pivot in my life like we all had to. After I finished writing it I could only hear Nas’ voice on it. For him to actually get on it blew my mind. Then when Stevie Wonder agreed to be on it and to learn that Nas had always wanted to work with Stevie, it was beyond my wildest dreams!”
Next Friday, Morton will release his new album Watch The Sun, which boasts features from JoJo ("My Peace"), El DeBarge ("On My Way"), Chronixx ("Watch The Sun") and more.
Beginning July 17th in Nashville, Morton will also embark on his 35-city Watch the Sun tour, which will hit Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle and additional cities before wrapping in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
General tickets for the Watch the Sun tour go on sale at 10 AM local time today on Morton's website.
