Prince Lets Loose Two New Singles "U KNOW" & "WHITECAPS"
When the kids are on holiday, the Purple One shall play. Prince snuck not one, but two new joints on us, releasing "U KNOW" and "WHITECAPS" off his upcoming two-fold release Art Official Age and Plectrum Electrum. After dropping us into the "Clouds" just last week, we've already got some some glimmering new frequenices to funk with. The first of the offerings boasts ethereal piano licks and bit of a sing-song delivery over some zippy synth work, tied together with a chopped drum break that recalls some of The Neptunes' finer selections, which were no doubt a derivative of the The Kid's work from the get.
"WHITECAPS" stunts harder and cleaner than prior 3rdEyeGirl sonics all at once; a more drawn out, vibe-heavy ballad that only sees its hook graced with Mr. Nelson's cherished vox. Certainly the first of his Plectrum Electrum cuts to see things slow down a bit, putting some shine on the formidable and funky three-piece's more dulcet inflections. The former can be found on Art Official Age, while the latter jumps from 3rdEyeGirl's debut. Both are out September 30th via Warner Brothers. Brace yourself for the imminent double-shot from His Purple Majesty and stream his latest singles below. Preorder Prince's Art Official Age and Plectrum Electrum via iTunes today.
