With people being detained under President Donald Trump's recent immigration ban, and protesters in New York City are coming together at JFK Airport to speak out.

Demonstrators have mobilized for an emergency protest outside of John F. Kennedy Airport's Terminal 4. Homemade signs at the protest read "let my friends in," "let our people go," "refugees welcome," and "no ban, no wall." Protesters have chanted "this is what America looks like" at the terminal. "Terminal 4," "JFK," "JFK Terminal 4," and "#MuslimBan" have all trended on Twitter on Saturday.

As a result of an executive order signed by Trump, multiple people have been detained at U.S. airports, including JFK Airport. According to New York Times, detained parties include an Iranian scientist who was going to a lab in Boston, an Iraqi who had worked as an interpreter for the U.S. Army, and a Syrian refugee family moving to Ohio.

The two Iraqis who were detained at JFK Airport have filed lawsuits against Trump, and one of them has been released.

Trump signed an executive order on Friday that "suspended entry of all refugees to the United States for 120 days, barred Syrian refugees indefinitely, and blocked entry into the United States for 90 days for citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen." The order has also barred green card holders from those countries from re-entering the United States, according to Department of Homeland Security.
