Puma And Bobbito Garcia Collaborate For Two New Pair of Sneakers

As arguably the most respected sneakerhead in the world, it's only right that Puma pay homage to Bobbito Garcia with two new collaborations.

This weekend, Puma revealed photos for two new pairs of shoes they worked on with Bobbito. One of them is a gray Clyde low top suede sneaker, with an olive swoosh and the phrase "Guard Up" embossed in - likely a reference to his obsession with basketball. The other pair is a brown mid-top, with an olive swoosh and tongue. On the other pair, the phrase "Where'd You Get Those?" is embossed, recognizing his hardcover book about New York City's sneaker culture.

No one deserves the sneaker recognition more than Bobbito. Yes, he was the co-host of the iconic Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show in New York City during the 1990s, which exposed artists like Nas, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Notorious B.I.G., and hundreds of others in their early days; and he founded of Fondle 'Em Records, which introduced and supported artists like MF DOOM and Juggaknots. But he has been immersed in sneaker culture since its virtual birth in the 1970s. Along with his book Where'd You Get Those?, he also hosted the ESPN show It's The Shoes and has been featured in stories and documentaries. He's worked with brands like Nike and adidas in the past, so it's only right that Puma pays homage as well.
