Purple Stuff: Jimi Hendrix - "Somewhere" Preview + People, Hell & Angels [Tracklisting]

Jimi Hendrix, the original black rock guitar god and Andre 3000's spiritual forefather, has a new album, of sorts. People, Hell & Angels is a forthcoming project collecting together 12 never-before-heard songs from the unreleased Hendrix archive. All 12 tracks were apparently recorded in 1968 and 1969, intended for First Days Of The New Rising Sun--the follow up to the classic Electric Ladyland that Hendrix was working on at the time of his death in 1970. In addition to the unveiling of the tracklisting (see after the jump) today, Hendrix received an additional birthday tribute (the singer and guitarist would have been 70 years old today) from his longtime engineer Eddie Kramer, who revealed a snippet of the album's 2nd track and lead single (Jimi Hendrix's "Somewhere") on Rolling Stone. The track features Stephen Stills and the legendary Buddy Miles on drums. Watch the clip below or via Rolling Stone and look out for People, Hell & Angels to drop on March 5th, 2013. Check out Jimi Hendrix's "Somewhere" preview.
