Keys Open Doors: Pusha T is Opening a Ramen Bar in Washington, D.C.
The bar will serve cocktails and hookah after 11 p.m. Opening night is set for New Year's Eve.
Pusha T is starting the new year off with a big business venture. On New Year's Eve, he'll launch a ramen bar named Kitsuen, with the help of NBA players Jerami and Jerian Grant, in addition to a group of nightlife entrepreneurs. The group includes Wayne Johnson and Tony Perry, who own the D.C. nightclubs, Saint Yves and Abigail.
Johnson and Perry have been friends with Pusha for nearly a decade. The other partner, Las Vegas entrepreneur Kyle Eubanks, is a college friend of Johnson's. "His business partner is a really close friend of mine from college days," Johnson told the Washington City Paper. "This all stemmed from us talking about collaborations. I had to convince him a little bit."
For the moment, the owners plan to keep a limited menu selection. "We'll do a few things really well rather than have a whole restaurant menu," Johnson says. The hours of operation will likely be Thursdays through Sundays, from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., these hours are subject to change. The restaurant will not have a dress code.
"It's a chill, kick-back place," Johnson said, "we're opening it to give an opportunity to people who are over the loud club, standing-on-couches thing. Some of our crowd has gotten a little older. We wanted to do something a little more calm."
The restaurant's launch is just another event in what's already been a big year for Pusha T. Earlier this month, he and his wife Virginia Williams announced that they were expecting their first child.
