Ray Parker Jr & Run DMC's 'Ghostbusters' Theme Songs To Receive 30th Anniversary Marshmallow Scented Vinyl Reissue
Can we just take a moment to think about all the Ghostbusters film has done for our generation? Aside from introducing us to the comedic genius that is Bill Ghostbustin' ass Murray, cementing the fact that cats and dogs living together might very well be a sign of the oncoming apocalypse and championing the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man as the ultimate harbinger of evil; it also threw some shine on one of the single greatest theme songs to ever be; none other than Ray Parker Jr.'s own opening anthem, which had every human being on the planet claiming that they "ain't afraid of no ghost."
And what better way to commemorate the sheer bravery that the film and it's hit single instilled in us, than a marshmallow-scented (and textured) vinyl reissue of the iconic theme on the film's big 3-0. You read that correctly, RPJ's bubbly, synth-touched banger will soon be available in a very limited pressing of 3,000 copies to help you deal with the fact that no one from the old gang will be returning for Paul Feig's just announced reboot. The lesser known Run DMCcut from the film's sequel will also be included in the reissue, making this this a two-fold drop, just in time for Halloween. The set goes on sale October 21st on Legacy Recordings, so be sure to hit the link below to grab your copy today before the drop.
