Report: Michael B. Jordan to Star in 'Matrix' Reboot Directed by The Wachowskis
Warner Bros. is reviving the iconic turn-of-the-century film franchise.
Continuing its decades-long reboot run, Hollywood is demanding a return of The Matrix. And Warner Bros. seems poised to deliver it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a revival of the franchise is currently in development from the studio and Zak Penn (The Avenegers, X-Men, Ready Player One) who's in talks to write the script. The report does not reveal what form the project will take -- whether that's binge-worthy full-season TV drop, big screen blockbuster, or something aptly interactive that'll ruin us forever -- but notes Michael B. Jordan has been eyed for a starring role.

Other sources add that The Wachowski sisters, who wrote and directed the original trilogy, are already onboard. The THR piece does point to ongoing talks between Warner and The Wachowskis and GeekTyrantreports that John Wick director, Chad Stahelski, recently stated he was thrilled that "the Wachowskis are not just doing a Matrix, but they’re expanding what we all loved."
But until they or the studio confirms it, this all just internet chatter. Hopefully, we're not too far from an official announcement. Hold tight for updates in the weeks to come.
