Rico Nasty Puts Her Twist on Edward Scissorhands in the "Check Me Out" Video
Rico Nasty drops the second video from her Nightmare Vacation album.
On Thursday, Rico Nasty dropped the video for "Check Me Out," the second single from her new album Nightmare Vacation. Open the Portal Animation Studio created the claymation visuals, while Jason Milov and Rich Zim served as producer and director. Stream the full video below.
In the video, Rico--in full Edward Scissorhands getup with blades for fingers. Along the way, she observes a family of wolves through binoculars, seemingly plotting on their demise. She sets out on the mission, but eventually she ends up befriending the family of three, even offering her services as a hairstylist as the video concludes.
"Sometimes looks can be deceiving," the video's epilogue reads. "And they all lived Nastily Ever After."
Open the Portal animation has worked with the Nicolas Cage-hosted History of Swear Words documentary series on Netflix, Psycho Psalms--an original pilot for Syfy, and KKUM, an official selection for Sundance. Additionally, the studio provided animation, fabrication and audio for Rick and Morty's "Pickle Rick Reality." More recently, the studio provided animation for Tierra Whack's Lego-inspired "Link" video. Other clients include Quaker Oats, Vans, Staples, and P!nk.
Nightmare Vacation peaked atop the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart with appearances from Amine, Trippie Redd, Gucci Mane and Don Toliver. The album's bonus tracks feature guest spots from ppcocaine, Sukihana and Rubi Rose.
