Grammy 2021: Watch Roddy Ricch Premiere His Melodic New Track "Heartless"
Not only did Roddy Ricch premiere a new song, but he performed his biggest hit "The Box."
Roddy Ricch, one of hip-hop's brightest young stars, performed two songs at the 2021 Grammys. Roddy Ricch started out his performance by debuting a new song. Sitting behind a piano, the rapper premiered "Heartless," a heartfelt, melodic new song. It is not clear yet on where "Heartless" will appear, but it's safe to assume it will be on his next album.
He then performed his no, 1 hit "The Box," which was nominated for three awards, Rap Song of the Year, Rap/Sung Performance, and Song of the Year.
Roddy Ricch was nominated for eight Grammys this year. Unfortunately, he was completely shut out, not winning any of the awards. (The good news is that he won a Grammy last year for his work on Nipsey Hussle's "Racks in the Middle.") Earlier in the night, Roddy hit the stage with DaBaby to perform another smash hit, "ROCKSTAR." Funny enough, DaBaby, who gathered four nominations Grammy nominations, was also shut out tonight.
Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocialwas released in 2019. The second song on the album is "The Box," a song that would completely take over pop culture for the first couple of months of 2020. The song was produced by 30 Roc, Datboisqueeze, and Zentachi and it spent 11 weeks at no. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. (The track was also on Okayplayer's best songs of 2020 list, the great honor a track could get.)
