Here's The Insanely Long Title of Sacha Baron Cohen's Upcoming 'Borat' Sequel
The title was reportedly revealed in its Writers Guild of America filing.
It's been 14 years since Sacha Baron Cohen took the states by storm with the critical and box office smash, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
But it appears that the irreverant Kazakh journalist is mounting a comeback. And the title for his next run is even more of a mouthful. According to The Film Stage, the sequel was filed with the Writers Guild of America under the title, Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan. And not only has it been filmed, but per a Collider report, it's already been screened for a handful of "industry types." The report also notes some plot cues, centering on Borat's newfound fame following the success of his first outing, now needing to disguise himself to avoid being outed in a very meta "Cohen as Borat as Cohen" way.
Rumors of a sequel were sparked earlier this month when Cohen was spotted in Los Angeles filming in full Borat garb (see below.) Cohen was also seen infiltrating a far-right rally and reportedly had the cops called on him in an attempt to prank former New York City mayor and current Trump lacky, Rudy Giuliani. As the title suggests, there's also a very clear tie-in to conversion therapy supporter, Mike Pence. And while it's unclear when or where the film will premiere, it seems fairly likely that one of the streamers will be getting behind it in the run-up to the presidential election in November. Expect an announcement in the weeks ahead and a grip of lawsuits to fly soon after.
