There Are Two Versions Of Sade's New 'A Wrinkle In Time' Song
Two days ago producer No I.D. released Sade's "Flower of the Universe," the artist's first song in over seven years and her contribution to the A Wrinkle in Time soundtrack. However, it turns out that there's two versions of the song, with No I.D.'s version being a remix.

The original is an acoustic version featuring collaborators Ben Travers and Andrew Hale. The acoustic guitar and bare production is undeniably reminiscent of Sade songs such as "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" or "By Your Side." But it's cool to hear her voice on two different types of production (especially considering one is produced by No I.D.).
Announcing the song last month Ava DuVernay, director of A Wrinkle In Time, tweeted: "I never thought she'd say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I'll never forget. Proud to announce that Sade has created an original song for WRINKLE IN TIME. It's entitled 'Flower of the Universe.' And it's a dream come true."
In a recent press release for the song DuVernay elaborated on Sade's contribution.
"My creative partnership with Sade on 'Flower of the Universe' was so connected that I reverse engineered the usual process and used her lyrics as actual dialogue within the film," she said in a report from Variety.
