Watch The Trailer For Seth MacFarlane's Upcoming 'Star Trek' Parody, 'The Orville'
For years, Seth MacFarlane has been a vocal star, providing the voice for some of the iconic characters in shows like Family Guy andAmerican Dad. Now MacFarlane has been given the opportunity to see if he can bring his magic to the live-action world.
This fall, MacFarlane is taking the lead on a one-hour sitcom called The Orville. Fox has just debuted the trailer for the upcoming show. Off the bat you can see what the show is attempting to do—they are trying to add their own comedic twist to the iconic Star Trek show. Here is how Fox described The Orville.
"The Orville is a one-hour science fiction series set 400 years in the future that follows the adventures of the U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory vessel. Its crew, both human and alien, faces the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of regular people in a workplace…even though some of those people are from other planets, and the workplace is a faster-than-light spaceship."
The fact that The Orville will be an hour long comedy is pretty interesting. Watch the trailer for the show — which will debut this fall on Fox — down below. Jon Favreau, the person who directed the first two Iron Man movies, is the one shooting the pilot.
